All No-Shave November long, we encourage you to grow your beard to new lengths for charity. No-Shave November is a family run, web-based organization, that raises money for cancer prevention, education, and research all while embracing the beard! Their hope is for participants “to embrace their hair for the many cancer patients that lose theirs due to vigorous treatments. We believe that together, anything is possible, and we’ll get closer to eradicating cancer one whisker at a time!”
This year, the No-Shave November coalition is raising money for three different non-profit organizations preventing cancer and benefiting cancer patients. At least 80% (or more) of every dollar raised will be divided equally among the coalition’s partners.
The Prevent Cancer Foundation® The nation’s leading voluntary health organizations and the only U.S. nonprofit organization focused solely on cancer prevention and early detection has catapulted cancer prevention to prominence and fulfills its mission through research, education, outreach and advocacy. The Foundation has received Guidestar’s Platinum Seal of Transparency, is an accredited charity with the Better Business Bureau, and receives the highest ratings from Charity Navigator and Charity Watch. On average, 79 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to support the Foundation’s programs.
Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) As a health advocacy group, Fight CRC raises money to “empower and activate a community of patients, fighters and champions to push for better policies and to support research, education and awareness for all those touched by colorectal cancer.” There main goals are to increase screening and ear detection of CRC and provide research for prevention and treatment of CRC.
St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital At St. Jude’s, they’re on a mission “to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.” Since its founding, the research and treatment provided at St. Jude have boosted the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80%, and they aren’t stopping there.
No-Shave November-Step 1: Set Up Your Fundraiser
The whole point of no-shave November is to raise money for cancer patients, so make sure you set up your official No-Shave November fundraising page before you begin the challenge. You can either form a team, or go solo. Then, come November you (and the boys?) will be ready to roll. It’s not enough to just grow a beard, raise some money while you’re at it.
No-Shave November-Step 2: Spread the Word
Part of leading a successful fundraiser is making sure to tell your friends, whether you participate in the “No-Shave” part of it, or not. If you make an individual or team fundraising page you can share it through your social media profiles and email it out to friends and family. We recommend posting before you begin the challenge, and then track your beard-growing journey all month long. Or, if you opt-out of your own personal fundraiser, you can still share the No Shave November call to action on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And, encourage participation at you work, in your neighborhood,or at your church by posting No Shave November flyers.
No-Shave November-Step 3: Clean shave
To truly test your beard (or mustache) growing abilities, you’ll need to start from scratch. So, on October 31st, go for a clean shave. If you order your Man Bundle Box now, all the products you’ll need to shave your beard off and grow it longer, and better than ever, will be shipped directly to you.
No-Shave November-Step 4: Grow and Maintain
There’s a common misconception about No-Shave November that the challenge is to grow an unruly beard, but that’s just not true. Actually, grooming a trimming are allowed. Also, there’s more to crafting a brilliant beard than cutting and shaving. At Mail Bundle Box, we have products to help you grow, style, clean, and comb your facial hair.
No-Shave November-Step 5: Donate!
Whether you decide to grow it out or not, make sure to donate to the cause. Don’t be so distracted by the luscious beard that you forget about the mission of No-Shave November and that’s to prevent and treat cancer in men and promote men’s health. So, share your own fundraiser, donate to a friend’s page or team or just donate directly to the No Shave November coalition.
